A Classic Disney Story Comes To Life
Based on the iconic animated Disney film, Aladdin JR. tells the story of a lovable “diamond in the rough” who discovers a magical lamp and releases a Genie capable of granting three wishes. Along the way, Aladdin learns that true value comes not from riches or status, but from honesty, courage, and staying true to oneself.
The stage adaptation features music by Alan Menken, with lyrics by Howard Ashman, Tim Rice, and Chad Beguelin, and a book by Beguelin. The original animated film was written by Ron Clements, John Musker, Ted Elliott, and Terry Rossio.
Audiences can expect to hear classic songs they know and love, high-energy ensemble numbers, colorful costumes, and plenty of comedic moments — especially from the larger-than-life Genie.
Showcasing Local Student Talent
School productions like this highlight the dedication, creativity, and teamwork of local students who have spent weeks rehearsing dialogue, choreography, and music to bring the story to life. From lead performers and ensemble cast members to stage crew, lighting technicians, and set designers, the production represents a full-school collaboration.
Community members are encouraged to attend not only for an evening of entertainment, but to support arts education in Johnsonburg and celebrate the hard work of the district’s young performers.
