CLEARFIELD: A local man has been sentenced to serve time in state prison following his guilty plea to multiple drug-related felonies stemming from a series of undercover investigations conducted by Pennsylvania State Police.

Bon Scott Lefort, 24, of Clearfield, entered his plea Monday during Colloquy Court with Sentencing before Clearfield County President Judge Paul E. Cherry. According to court officials, Lefort was sentenced to serve between 21 months and four years in a state correctional institution after admitting to three counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, all felonies.

Court documents detail an extensive narcotics investigation that unfolded over several months in 2024. The case originated in November when authorities received information from a confidential informant who claimed to be able to purchase methamphetamine from Lefort. The informant told investigators they could arrange a sale of approximately 3.5 grams of methamphetamine, commonly referred to as an “eight-ball,” directly from the defendant.

Using text messages, investigators worked with the informant to coordinate a controlled buy in the parking lot of the Philipsburg Plaza in Decatur Township. Surveillance teams were strategically positioned nearby as the operation unfolded. A trooper observed a silver vehicle parked in the lot, later confirmed to be driven by Lefort, who appeared to be alone. When the informant arrived, Lefort exited his car and entered the passenger side of the informant’s vehicle. Officers reported seeing what appeared to be several brief hand-to-hand exchanges before Lefort returned to his own car and left the scene.

The operation was followed by two additional controlled buys. The second occurred on February 14th, when the same informant arranged another transaction with Lefort for the purchase of an “eight-ball” of methamphetamine priced at $100. That exchange took place at a residence in Morris Township under continuous police observation.

A third controlled purchase took place on April 24th at the same Morris Township location. According to the affidavit of probable cause, Lefort again sold approximately 3.5 grams of methamphetamine to the informant for $85. Law enforcement personnel continued to monitor Lefort’s activity, gathering sufficient evidence to support multiple charges of possession with intent to deliver.

Lefort was later arrested and formally charged in Clearfield County with three separate counts, each relating to an individual transaction that police confirmed through surveillance and informant cooperation. Following his arrest, the evidence was reviewed and presented to prosecutors, resulting in the filing of felony charges.

During Monday’s hearing, Lefort admitted his role in the sales and accepted responsibility as part of a negotiated plea agreement. Judge Cherry subsequently imposed the state prison sentence. Lefort will receive credit for time already served in custody while awaiting the resolution of his case.

According to Clearfield County court officials, the sentence reflects the seriousness of the offenses and the ongoing effort by law enforcement agencies to combat the distribution of controlled substances throughout the area. Methamphetamine remains one of the most persistent drug threats in rural Pennsylvania counties, authorities have stated, prompting continued collaborative investigations among local police, troopers, and confidential informants.
