HOUTZDALE: One of the most popular traditions tied to Houtzdale Days is back again this year, as organizers announce the return of the Freezer of Beef Raffle—a fundraiser that has become a staple of the annual community celebration.

Hosted by the Houtzdale Community Partnership Association, the raffle offers a substantial prize package that combines local agriculture with practical value for the winner.

What’s Included In The Raffle

This year’s grand prize includes:

  • One-quarter of a cow (approximately 130 pounds of beef) sourced from Kitko Farms
  • A 7-cubic-foot deep freezer, perfect for storing the prize beef

Tickets are priced at $20 each, with all proceeds benefiting Houtzdale Days and helping support the planning, entertainment, and activities that make the annual event a highlight for residents and visitors alike.

The drawing will take place on March 6th.

How To Get Tickets

Tickets can be purchased in several ways:

Houtzdale Days members currently selling tickets include Colleen Frank, Tonya Jarret, Angela Polito, Valerie Greenawalt, Kaylie Gardner, Kristen Lamoreau, Shannon Blake, and Jennifer Simmons.

A Proven Community Tradition

The Freezer of Beef Raffle has been held successfully in past years and has consistently drawn strong community participation. Previous raffles have helped fund many of the elements residents have come to expect at Houtzdale Days, including family-friendly activities, live entertainment, food vendors, and community gatherings that bring generations together.

Organizers say the raffle is popular not only because of the prize itself, but because it directly supports a hometown event that celebrates local pride, volunteerism, and small-town tradition.

Looking Ahead To Houtzdale Days

While full details for this year’s Houtzdale Days celebration will be announced closer to the event, organizers say planning is already underway and the community can expect many of the familiar features that have defined the festival in past years.
