CLEARFIELD: Several residents were left without housing after a fire damaged a home Tuesday afternoon in Clearfield Borough.
Emergency responders were called to a residence in the 200 block of Weaver Street shortly after reports of a fire inside the structure. Fire crews arrived quickly and were able to bring the blaze under control within roughly 15 minutes of reaching the scene.
According to the fire chief for the Clearfield Borough Fire Department, one individual was inside the home when the fire occurred. That person was able to exit safely, and no injuries were reported.
Officials said the second floor of the house sustained heavy smoke damage along with significant water damage from firefighting efforts. Additional water damage was reported throughout other areas of the home.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and remains under investigation by the state fire marshal.
